For advocates in Nepal
Legal Case Management Software for Nepali Lawyers
Every matter as one record — parties, court, registry details, hearings, documents and notes — from the day it is filed to the day it is decided, and up the court ladder if it goes there.
- Nepal registry fields
- District → High → Supreme chain
- BS and AD on every date
- Reversible deletes

The case record, field by field
Most software calls this a "matter" and gives you a title, a client and a free-text notes box. That is where Nepali practice detail goes to die: the receipt number and the फाँट end up inside a paragraph, and nothing can search or report on them afterwards.
Here they are fields. The case form is sectioned across roughly twenty-one of them, and the ones specific to Nepal’s registry are first-class:
- Case number, unique within your firm, plus title and court name
- Court level — district · high · supreme · tribunal or special · other, or blank when it genuinely has not been recorded
- Filing date and verification date, each stored in AD and BS together
- Receipt number, section officer (फाँटवाला), section (फाँट) and case subject (मुद्दा)
- Petitioner advocates (वादी अधिवक्ता) and respondent advocates (प्रतिवादी अधिवक्ता)
- Case type, status, priority, assigned advocate, and the next hearing date in both calendars
Both sides of the matter
A case holds a client block — name, phone, email, address, and optionally a linked login if that client uses the read-only portal — and, separately, an opponent block with the opposing party, their counsel and any details you want to keep on them.
Keeping opposing counsel on the record rather than in someone’s phone is a small thing that pays off years later, when the same name appears across three unrelated matters.
What happens when a matter climbs the court ladder
This is the part generic software gets wrong. When a district decision is appealed, the higher court issues its own case number, its own receipt, its own फाँट and its own filing date. Software that models the appeal as an edit to the existing record overwrites the district history — and because a hearing takes its court from the case it belongs to, it silently re-attributes every past hearing to a court that never heard it.
WakilFlow makes each rung its own case, chained to the one below. Filing an appeal copies the client, opponent, subject, description and advocates forward, blanks the registry fields the new court has not issued yet, and links the two. Nothing is overwritten, and each rung keeps its own hearings.
- How the matter reached the court is recorded: appeal (पुनरावेदन) · revision (पुनरावलोकन) · writ (रिट) · review (मुद्दा दोहोर्याई पाउँ) · reference (जाहेरी)
- The ladder is validated — an appeal must go to a strictly higher court, with unranked tiers exempt
- One view shows the whole chain, each rung linking to its own case
- Appellate records are marked in lists, so a chain does not read as duplicate matters
- Appeals do not count against your plan’s case limit, so a firm at its ceiling can still follow its own matters upward
Hearings on the matter, in the calendar you work in
A hearing belongs to a case and carries the date in both AD and BS, the time, the court room, notes and separate preparation notes. Scheduling it updates the case’s next hearing date and creates the reminder set in the same action, so the diary and the case cannot disagree.
Reminders fire seven days before, one day before, and on the day. The message names the case, the court, the date in both calendars, the time, the room and your preparation notes — enough to act on from a notification, without opening anything.
- Day agenda with the BS date, today’s hearings, and the next thirty days
- Month grid with hearings and Nepali holidays, in BS or AD
- Postponed and cancelled are statuses, not deletions, so a date that moved leaves a trace
- Reminders reach email and the Android app; each person controls which types reach them, and when

Documents, notes and one activity timeline
Filings and evidence upload against the case with a category, tags and a description; a replacement becomes a version of the original rather than a new file with a longer name. Notes carry their author and time and can be marked internal so they stay inside the firm.
The activity view merges notes, hearings and uploads into a single chronology. When a client asks what has happened since Baisakh, that is the screen you read from.
Who can open which case
Case visibility is a property of the role, not a setting you remember to apply per matter. A role sees the whole firm’s cases, only the matters assigned to or created by that person, or no cases at all — and confidential documents need their own separate permission on top.
The client-portal role is read-only by construction and sees only its own matters and non-confidential documents. It is worth knowing that a firm can grant its own roles any capability it likes, so the roles screen is worth ten minutes when you set up.
Deleting a case is reversible for thirty days
Deleting a matter used to mean losing its hearings, documents and notes with it. Now the record moves to a trash you can browse and restore from, and it takes nothing with it: the hearings and documents are hidden by their link to the case, so restoring the case brings them all back with no bookkeeping.
While it is in the trash it stops reminding you about itself, drops out of dashboards, stat tiles, analytics and exports, and releases its slot against your plan’s case limit. After thirty days it is genuinely gone.
- Cases, hearings, documents, diary entries, tasks and enquiries all move to the trash rather than vanishing
- A trashed rung drops out of an appeal chain and re-links when restored
- Delete and restore are separate entries in the audit log
Finding the matter again
- Search across case number, title, client, opponent and court name
- Filter by status, priority, assigned advocate, court and court level, then sort any column
- Card view or table view, twenty per page
- Documents searchable by title, tags and description; hearings by title, case number and case title

Frequently asked questions
- Does it pull hearing dates from the court’s website?
- No. Nepal’s courts publish no API, and no automatic connection to a court system exists here — the cause list is read by a person and the date is entered by your firm. What the software then guarantees is that the date is shared, dated in both calendars, and reminded about; not that it appeared on its own.
- Can I enter dates in Bikram Sambat?
- Yes, on the web app: the picker takes BS or AD and stores both. The mobile app currently offers Gregorian pickers and displays BS alongside.
- What happens to the district case when we appeal?
- It stays exactly as it is, with its own number, dates and hearing history. The appeal is a new case linked to it, and both appear in one chain view. That is deliberate — merging them would re-attribute the district court’s hearings to the appellate court.
- Is there a limit on how many cases we can keep?
- The plan sets it, and appeals are exempt so following a matter upward never costs you a slot. A case in the trash releases its slot immediately; restoring it re-checks the limit and is refused if something else has taken the space.
- Can two advocates work on the same matter?
- Yes. A case has one assigned advocate for accountability, but anyone whose role covers the whole firm’s cases can open it, add notes, schedule hearings and upload documents — and the activity timeline shows who did which.
